MIL's Thank You Cards

Here is the picture I promised to share of the cards I made for my MIL for her to send out at work. I bought the swiss dot and argyle folders just for these cards :) My MIL loved them. I'll be making 20 of them.

Thanks for looking.

Time for a Catch Up!!

So I think its time to catch up. The girls have started back to school. Abby is in the 2nd grade and my baby girl is in preschool! They are both doing great!

I have done some scrapbooking lately. Well, at least in the form of making cards. I made a 100 invitations for Eric's Aunt Jerri. Wow that was a task :)

The next cards that I'm working on is my cousins Change of Address cards and my MIL's Thank You cards for work. I have to make about 50 change of address and about 20 Thank You's. Here is a picture of the Change of Address card. I haven't taken a picture of the Thank You's. I promise to share that when I get it taken :)
(Keep an eye out Donna! )

I did start up a Book Club and we've only read 1 book and had 1 meeting so far. the 2nd book that we chose to read I did read, but circumstance came up that we couldn't all get together for our 2nd meeting. I'm sure that we will get together soon.

Well, this is a short update, but the girls want to go swimming and its an hour before bedtime :)

Hope everyone in the blogger world has a great evening!!!

Ok I'm not done, LOL

I just had to share a picture of me with my Monkey from Build A Bear. I named her Scrappy. For those of you wondering if I got a sound, I did. I got the beating heart, the monkey sound and then I was able to do a build a sound. We had the girls one at a time say Happy Mother's Day and I Love You!! I will cherish this forver.

Oh My!

So it looks like I went almost 2 months without posting. What was I thinking? We did celebrate Ally's 4th Birthday. I do know that I was very sick before her birthday and we couldn't celebrate it the way we wanted. Hubby and the girls and In-Laws met Aunt Jerri @ McDonalds and they had a Tinkerbell party there. Hubby took pictures for me. On Ally's official birthday we went out to dinner and then opened up presents from us. Then that weekend we went to Chuck E. Cheese with my parents and had a great time there.

Abby did lose another tooth about 2 weeks ago. So she's missing 3 teeth on top. On another good note she also learned to ride her bike without training wheels. We are so proud of her.

I had a very nice Mother's Day. Abby made me a keychain at school and also decorated a cake at school for me. Delicious! Then the girls went shopping with Mimi and got me some bath things. On the Saturday before Mother's Day hubby and the girls took me to the mall to Build A Bear where I could make a monkey.

The girls made scrapbook pages for the grandmas and they loved them.

I'm sure that there are many more things that has gone on, but I don't need to bore anyone.

There are so many pictures that I could share of different pictures of the girls and things like that, but I think that I will share their layouts.

Also we have been in the process of planning Abby's 7th birthday party. It's going to be an all girl party. Can you guess what the theme is? Haven't guess yet?

HANNAH MONTANA

First I'll share the layouts and then I'll share the invitation that we made for her party.

Here is Ally's page for the grandmas. She put the stickers on and colored in Tinkerbell and the flower.

Here is Abby's page for the grandmas. She did everything herself. She even came up with the title.

We have yet to hear from anyone, but we just gave out the invites on Monday.
I do know that 1 person is coming though :)

I guess that's it for me for tonight. Time to get the girls into bed and then it's time for IDOL!! GO ADAM!!!!!

Redo of the Bra Card

Had to redo the bra card because there was some people that said it looked like a butt so here is the new version.

Cards I've Made

So yesterday and today I made 2 cards. The first one is a sympathy card for my husband to send to his mom's best friend whose husband just died. I found the quote online from a stamp site. I had hubby choose which one he liked.

Hubby's work is always having bake sales and things to raise money for Breast Cancer. I asked him if they had a poster or anything saying "Thanks for your support" and he said no. So I made this card should they want to use it on their tables. It was so much fun to make.

#129 Green

When my FIL called and asked if the girls could make him green, I just knew that this picture would be perfect for this one.

He was playing in a St. Patty's golf tournament today and wanted to be all green!

Tiny Basket

On one of my groups that I am on they had a video of this tiny basket. It was just too cute not to try! So I sat down with hubby and after 31 years finally learned how to read a ruler and made one on my own! So I sit down with my mom today to show her how to make it and made her one. This is the one that I made for my mom and we added Easter grass to it.

If you go to YouTube and type in tiny basket you will find it. It will be the one that says Tiny Basket With Dawn.

End of the year gift

I'm working on a end of the year gift for my daughter Abby's teacher. I'm planning on making Thank you cards and notecards. We went to Michaels on Friday to pick up some supplies and then came home and I got one notecard done before I got sick. I told my husband that I'm not allowed to make anymore gifts because it seems that I get sick when I make gifts LOL Of course I love making gifts and seeing peoples reaction to them.

I was going to do the cards in her favorite colors, but didn't hear back from Abby's teacher until today. So I will probably make the thank you cards in her favorite colors. Since she is a teacher I chose primary colors for the note cards.

Here is the note card that I got done:

I chose white card stock and then like I said above primary colors. The colored card stock is already cut which is awesome! I printed out Abby's teachers name on my printer and then used a stamp that I got in the $1 section at Michaels and used my Making Memories pencils and colored in the flower. I plan on making 50 of them. OH MY!! What have I got myself into LOL

Baby Birth Announcements!

A very good friend of mine just had a baby a week ago and I decided that I would make some birth announcements for her as a present. My whole family got sick so it got put to the wayside, but then we got better and away I went. I used the matchbook concept to make them. It was a lot of fun to make and something different in the process. I hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I enjoyed making them!

(I marked out their last name for privacy)

It wasn't easy to find a picture. Not because I don't have pictures, but because my pictures are in folders, inside of folders, inside of folders LOL I did my best though.

It didn't come out that great, but it's a picture of a butterfly that was taken in my MIL's pool area.

New Outfit!

So we went to Wal-Mart tonight and we were without the kids which is the perfect time to go clothes shopping. I decided that I wanted a pair of jeans because I don't have any. So I found a pair that fit just right which is not easy to do. I'm still working on the losing weight thing and these jeans didn't showcase my tummy. Then I went to look at shirts. I saw this shirt and it was on clearance and I thought hey why not try it on. I tried it on and was impressed. I came out of the dressing room to show hubby and he fell in love instantly! I knew it was a winner then!! It fit so well I bought another one in a different color. I decided that this is the outfit that I will wear to go and see Kenny Rogers.

OH YEAH!!!

I have some great news, but you are going to have to keep reading to see what it is. I just can't come right out and tell ya now can I? I love surprises! Hubby has these chances to win things at work and they can only win once a year. You are probably trying to guess what it is that he can win huh? Ok I'll give you this much. He can win tickets for concerts at the Van Wezel which is a very expensive performing arts place. In the past we have seen the Bacon Brothers, Trisha Yearwood (we even got to meet her in person) & some other things as well.

So he has tried to win some tickets this year, but hasn't won. He asked me about a week ago if he should put his name in for this particular person. I said "You bet your sweet BIPPY you better!" I of course wasn't going to get my hopes up either.

He was supposed to find out today if he won. I waited all day for the email. The email never came so I thought alright we didn't win. No big deal.

Well, what do you know he comes home a little early and he has tickets in his hand. You guessed it he won! Now comes the exciting part. Who we are going to see.

We are going to see:

KENNY ROGERS

I am so excited! Kenny Rogers in my humble opinion is the cutest old guy there is. Not to mention he can sing!!!

So of course I have made my FIL and my parents very jealous! My FIL said he would make me an offer that I couldn't refuse. He said that he would make me liver (Yes, I like liver and onions), but that wasn't going to work!

So I would have to say that this is an AWESOME Valentine's Gift!! What do you think?

One Night Getaway!

So having 2 girls and a dog it's hard to be spontanus. Well, Friday nights are our date nights to be able to do what we want as the girls go to the grandparents. So hubby calls me up as the girls and I are walking home from the bus stop and tells me to pack our bags we are going away for the night. I had no idea where we were going or anything until hubby got home. It's not easy packing when you don't know where you are going. By the time hubby gets home the girls have gone to the grandparents along with the dog. Hubby tells me when he gets home that we are going to the hotel that we stayed in for our Honeymoon 7 years ago!! That was so exciting to me!! We've been wanting to go back there, but it's expensive and we couldn't afford it. Not to mention when we went there the first time it was a gift from his aunts to us. Hubby was in the right place at the right time and got a great deal. So we load up the car and off we go on a romantic getaway for a night. We had dinner at Cracker Barrel and stopped at Wal-mart for shoes because I forgot his and we were going to be walking on the beach. OOPS!! We get there around 8pm or so and check in. We stayed at Sandpiper at Tradewinds. We were going to go to the bar on the beach that we had went to on our Honeymoon, but it was closed for renovations. We walked the beach and then walked up and down the road and ended up at 7-11 for snacks. Can't believe I ate the whole bag LOL I ate a whole bag of gummy bears as we were playing a new monopoly card game that I only won once!!

Here are some pictures of our room.

Here is a picture of some swans that were sleeping as we were taking our walk.

Here is the sign of the hotel at night

Today we went to breakfast and a couple shops and then it was off to lunch before we headed home. Lunch was AWESOME! We went to this restaurant that is called Spinners. It's at the very top of this hotel and it's a revolving restaurant. It was a very neat experience and one that we will like to experience again.

Here are some pictures from this awesome experience!

Here is the front of the building

Right at the very top is where we ate

This was one of the views

Here was a view of the beach. At one point all you could see was the water

They had signs at different parts as you are rotating. I saw this one and thought of my friend Mindi who lives in NM.

Then I saw this one and thought of my friend Tracy who lives in New Zealand.

So after a nice relaxing and reconnect time with hubby we get home to a nice quiet house as the kids and dog are not home yet. Then the girls come home and they are in the living room playing the racing game on the Wii and you can hear them start to fight and I tell hubby "We're home"

My Inked Girl & Her Masterpiece!

So today was a trying day for me as my little girl was being a big stinker! So this afternoon while I was trying to cook dinner she was playing with one of her stamp pads and she comes into the kitchen to show me what she had made. I was on the phone with hubby at the time too :) All I could do was laugh!! I really and truly needed this laugh that's for sure!
